I adopted my dog Madeline (nee Topa) from CARL in Sept 2008. She has grown into a wonderful dog -- friendly with dogs and people, loving and affectionate, and full of life and energy. She loves playing ball on the beach (or anywhere else) more than anything else, but she also takes Agility classes and has recently started Herding classes. She LOVES herding as you can see in the attached photos.
Thank you all so much.

Hope happiness makes itself at home for your holidays.
Sorry to tell you that Bitsy passed away this past year. it was a combination of the Cushing Disease and she lost control of her rear legs. She was between 16 and 18 years old. She was such a sweet little dog. Abby and I miss her a lot.
Abby is well and happy. I think of all of you often.
Merry Christmas! Ingrid and Abby

Thanks for saving me so I could be adopted by humans Karen and Bob
Hello- I'm doing great living in Portland, OR - sometimes I get a little tired of the rain but my humans do a good job of holding an umbrella over me, toweling me off and giving me a treat. I eat pretty good here and there are lots of comfy beds all over the house. I get lots of love and have become more playful. Arf Arf Frieda

I have been meaning to do this for some time. About 7 months ago we adopted AKA-Darbie, now known in our home as Thulani or Mr T a white deaf boxer from C.A.R.L. From all accounts of how he came to C.A.R.L it was apparent that Thulani's past had been rough and filled with stories of abandonment and sadness. What was supposed to be a foster dog became part of our family. I will be the first to admit that the first few month with Thulani was difficult. C.A.R.L could not have been more supportive, and even sent Debbie
a behavioral therapist and incredibly giving and talented trainer to help with our adjustment to Mr T. With time, love and a strong pack
Thulani is doing amazing. Every day he brings love, joy and sometimes a large slobbery kiss to our home. He has recently completed his first wilderness backpacking trip and with hard work from my wife with sign language he is able to do every thing a normal pup can. I want to thank C.A.R.L for rescuing Mr T, taking care of him and loving him until he found us. Here are some pictures of Mr T
and his daily adventures.
